Behind the wheel of a Dodge Durango, Hayes allegedly struck a Kia with four occupants that was making a left turn in front of his truck.
Two kids, 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Rivera, were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, 78-year-old Gail Price, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Sunday, according to CBS News.
It was initially reported that two people died, though the number increased to three on Sunday night.
Hayes was a top recruit coming out of high school, picking Miami over several other major programs. He committed to The U over Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Michigan and Notre Dame, among other schools.
