Tragic Mystery: Rising Football Stars Fall Victim to Shocking Late-Night Shootings
An incoming college football player at Newberry College in South Carolina was killed in a shooting. Mycheal Edwards-Wallace, 18, was one of two people killed in an incident in Kingtree, South Carolina earlier in July.
He was a recent graduate of Kingstree High School and was set to play football for Newberry.
“Our hearts go out to his family,” Newberry head coach Todd Knight said in a statement. “It’s such a tragedy for a talented young man to be struck down at a young age. He was a good student and a great young man with a terrific personality and a bright future. We were really excited to have him as a part of our team. He will always be a part of our Newberry family.”
