The Green Bay Packers made an unprecedented move when they acquired Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys.

While the Packers are a historic franchise with a lot of success throughout the years, trading for high-caliber players hasn’t been a big part of their strategy.

Needless to say, fans were surprised to see them go after Parsons, but it’s a move that has already seen tremendous rewards on the field.

Analyst Gordon McGuinness said as much in a recent article on PFF, where he talked through his first-quarter All-Pro team.

“You could make a case for at least four edge defenders alone to be in the running for this award. However, it is Parsons who leads all players at the position with a 93.4 PFF pass-rush grade. His 25 total pressures are tied with Will Anderson Jr. for the most in the NFL, while his 28.0% pass-rush win rate is tied for fourth,” McGuinness wrote.

Parsons easily made the cut for McGuinness, who highlighted his position-leading 93.4 PFF pass-rush grade.

While he still isn’t playing 100% of the defensive snaps for the Packers, Parsons is making a major impact when he’s on the field and is still among the league leaders for total pressures and pass-rush win rate.

The Packers’ bye couldn’t have come at a better time for Parsons and his teammates, who are still slightly banged up, but if they can utilize this to their advantage and be healthy for the final three quarters of the season, they’ll certainly take it.

Parsons expressed some frustrations with his performance in Week 4, and that, paired with increased health, should propel him to be even better moving forward.
