The Oilers selecting Bourgault 22nd in 2021 was a whiff in so many ways. They traded down two spots when Jesper Wallstedt, a potential franchise goalie, was still on the board. He could have addressed an area of need. Instead, they chose Bourgault with Wyatt Johnston in play. Dallas was the beneficiary.
