Unlikely QB Stuns Crowd in Florida Spring Game as Aaron Philo’s Shocking Turnovers Raise Eyebrows
Florida football turned to spring football practices in finding DJ Lagway’s replacement. Head coach Jon Sumrall has a new dilemma on his hands involving quarterback Aaron Philo.
A surprise performer stole the show in the Gators’ spring game.
Zach Abolverdi of On3/Rivals revealed Tramell Jones edged out the projected starter Philo with his performance.
“All eyes were on Jones and Philo in The Swamp on Saturday, and both produced in the passing game — especially at the end of the first half. Of the two signal callers, Jones had the better day in the spring game,” Abolverdi wrote. “Philo threw two interceptions and Jones had none.”
