Have you ever stumbled upon a fresh talent so electrifying that you can’t help but wonder if you’re witnessing the dawn of something truly special? Well, that’s exactly how I felt when I first heard the buzz around Jihaad Campbell, the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2025 first-rounder who’s already making waves long before he’s even had a full season under his belt. Standing tall at 6-foot-3 and packing 236 pounds of pure athleticism, Campbell doesn’t play like your typical linebacker—nope, he’s got that rare blend of physicality and agility that’s got folks whispering comparisons to none other than Micah Parsons. Intriguing, right? Especially when Saquon Barkley himself, a guy who knows a thing or two about elite talent, is dropping praise and noting Campbell’s versatility and raw aggression. The Eagles have always been master gamblers in the draft, and with their stacked roster allowing patience and development, it’s starting to look like they’ve hit the jackpot once again. So, could Campbell be the next big thing reshaping the NFC East—and maybe even the NFL? Stay tuned, because this is a story that’s just getting started…

The Philadelphia Eagles may have found another superstar.
Jihaad Campbell hasn’t been there long, but the first-round pick from the 2025 NFL Draft has already made a name for himself.
The linebacker has turned heads with his physical play and aggressiveness, and given his positional versatility and athleticism, Saquon Barkley sees plenty of Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons in him.
“He’s kind of built like Micah a little bit,” Barkley said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I’ve known Micah for a long time. So I feel like as he grows and learns the game a little bit more, you’re going to be able to put him in different spots. But just raw, uber athletic, can fly (and) aggressive.”
As a fellow Penn State product and NFC East rival, Barkley knows a thing or two about Parsons’ game, so he might be onto something.
Campbell is already in line to start next to All-Pro Zack Baun.
At 6-foot-3, 236 pounds, Campbell is athletic, fast and strong, and plays with a chip on his shoulder.
He doesn’t look like the average linebacker, and most people would think he’s a tight end, a defensive end, or maybe even a slim offensive guard.
The Eagles have made a living out of rolling the dice on high-end prospects in the NFL Draft.
They can afford to take risks and zig when everybody else zags because they’re roster is already stacked, and they can wait and develop young players.
That approach has worked like a charm, and they may have struck gold again.
