Super Bowl Picks

  • Spread: SEA -4.5

  • SEA ML: -235

  • NE ML: +195

Holder’s picks: SEA -4.5, SEA ML, Under 45.5

Putting it simply, the Seahawks are the superior team, and they’re playing better in the playoffs than the Patriots are. New England’s relatively easy schedule this season has become a running joke, and they’ve gotten some luck with their playoff draws by facing some shaky offenses. The Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive line was decimated, C.J. Stroud has been declining since his rookie season for the Houston Texans, and the Denver Broncos lost starting quarterback Bo Nix the week before the Conference Championship. So, I’ll put my money on Seattle getting revenge for Super Bowl 49.

Pick’em Competition

Moving on to S&BP’s Pick’em competition, below is a look at how our writers finished in the Conference Championships.

  1. Matt Holder 188-95-1 (66%)

  2. Bill Williamson 183-98-1 (65%)

  3. Ray Aspuria 177-106-1 (63%)

I already had the writer’s championship secured, but went bold a couple of weeks ago, picking the Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams to be playing this weekend. That ended up blowing up in my face and costing me an opportunity to win the overall crown. Meanwhile, Ray is the only writer who went 2-0 during the Conference Championships, as Bill also picked the Rams.

We had 23 community members get both Conference Championship games correct, so I’ll spare you all from a long top pickers list this week. You all deserve a big pat on the back because that’s an impressive hit rate! As for the standings, the competition is JeepRaider’s to lose. It will come down to Jeep and Freddy B Good, where Jeep can win it all by correctly predicting the Super Bowl and the best Freddy can do is tie for the win.
