Unlocking the Mystery: What You Never Knew About .

So, here we are again, scratching our heads as the Kansas City Chiefs’ run game limps out of the gate like it’s still trying to find its footing in slow motion. Kareem Hunt, once the dazzling dynamo tearing up defenses, now barely registers more explosive runs than Isiah Pacheco—and both pale in comparison to Patrick Mahomes’ modest seven. Isn’t it wild how the guy who’s often sprinting to save the play ends up leading the charge—not from design, but necessity? This offense, once the envy of the league, now feels like a puzzle missing too many critical pieces. And with Matt Nagy struggling to ignite that same spark Eric Bieniemy once did, one has to wonder: can this team turn the tide before their season spins even further off course? Let’s dive into the stats and the struggles behind those numbers—it’s a story that has more layers than a perfectly executed play… or maybe just some hard lessons in patience and persistence.

It’s been a while since the Kansas City Chiefs had an explosive offense.

Fans have grown frustrated with coordinator Matt Nagy, who has failed to find the same success as Eric Bieniemy did.

This season in particular, the running game has been one of their biggest issues.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs with seven explosive runs (of at least 10 yards), while running backs Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco are tied for second with one each.

“Not ideal,” Dan Orlovsky wrote on X.

Mahomes has shown that he can be efficient with his legs, but it’s not like they’re drawing up those plays for him.

He has had to scramble often because his receivers fail to create separation.

Also, he hasn’t had the time or space to move around in the pocket, so he has to take matters into his own hands when he sees some room in front of him.

Additionally, it speaks volumes about the lack of efficiency from their running backs.

Pacheco has looked like a shell of himself ever since he returned from injury last season, and it’s been years since Hunt was a marquee player.

Mahomes might be one of the best quarterbacks of all time, but this is a team sport, and he’s not getting any help.

That’s why Kansas City is 0-2 heading into its Week 3 game at the New York Giants.
