Unseen Celebration Unfolds as Mike Leach’s Family Receives Unexpected Congratulations Thursday

Leach had an incredible run from 2000-2022, coaching at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State. He was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year twice during that stretch and won 158 games.  Although it’s not written on his résumé, he inspired countless coaches to adopt the “Air Raid” system on offense. 

Despite his undeniable success, Leach wasn’t eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame coming into this month. That’s because coaches must have a winning percentage of .600 or better. 

Fortunately for Leach, the College Football Hall of Fame has changed its criteria. This news was first reported by Brett McMurphy of The Action Network.
