College football‘s two conferences of note were well-represented in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The national champion Ohio State Buckeyes had a huge weekend and lead the way in draft picks with 14 — most of which occurred in the top and middle portions of the draft. But a pair of SEC powers were right on their tail in that regard.
Ryan Day has done a pretty outstanding job of stacking talent in Columbus, OH since taking over for Urban Meyer and he continued that trend with this year’s ’25 class.
Here’s a look at the 10 schools who had the most players taken in this year’s draft (with a couple of honorable mentions*):
- Ohio State Buckeyes – 14
- Georgia Bulldogs – 13
- Texas Longhorns – 12
- Oregon Ducks – 10
- Ole Miss Rebels – 8
- Alabama Crimson Tide – 7
- Florida Gators – 7
- LSU Tigers – 7
- Michigan Wolverines – 7
- Miami Hurricanes – 7
- Maryland Terrapins – 6*
- Notre Dame Fighting Irish – 6*
Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka got the party started for the Bucks when Tampa Bay took him 19th overall pick in the first round. Which was followed up by offensive lineman Donovan Jackson (24th), defensive lineman Tyleik Williams (28th) and tackle Josh Simmons (No. 32).
The backfield tandem of Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson kept that going into Round 2 and their class was ultimately closed out with Will Howard’s selection in the sixth round at No. 185.
Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs had three first-rounders of their own with the selections of Mykel Williams (No. 11, 49ers), Jalon Walker (No. 15, Falcons) and star safety Malaki Starks (No. 27, Ravens).
Miami and Notre Dame were the only programs on the list not in the Big Ten or SEC — but the Canes had arguably the biggest pick of all with quarterback Cam Ward going first to the Tennessee Titans.
