"Unveiling the Mystery: Jay Gruden's 'Intriguing' QB Prospect with Unanswered Questions Set to Leave Fans Guessing!"

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, all eyes are glued to the quarterback prospects poised to make waves at the next level. Cam Ward has catapulted into the spotlight as the consensus top pick, closely followed by Shedeur Sanders—both names you’ll hear echoed throughout draft discussions. But hold onto your hats because there’s a wildcard in the mix: Jaxson Dart. With hints of promise and a touch of mystery, former NFL head coach Jay Gruden recently threw some thoughts into the ring about Dart, likening him to Bo Nix—a surprising take considering Nix’s debut was one for the books. So, what can we expect from Jaxson Dart? Is he the diamond in the rough teams might just be lucking into? Or will those “big question marks” Gruden pointed out come back to haunt him? Let’s dive into the stats, scrutinize the skills, and explore what Dart brings to the table as the draft looms ever closer!

Cam Ward is almost universally considered the top quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, with Shedeur Sanders next behind him.

As far as the top tier of QBs, there are Ward and Sanders, but there are some intriguing prospects in the second tier, and one of them is Jaxson Dart.

Former NFL head coach Jay Gruden said Dart reminds him of Bo Nix, who had an excellent rookie season with the Denver Broncos in 2024, but also has some things to work on.

“Jaxson Dart is a very intriguing prospect,” Gruden wrote on X. “Lots to like, but also a few big question marks.”

Dart doesn’t have the strongest arm, but Gruden feels he could be skilled enough to go in the first round.

He threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns and six interceptions and completed 69.3 percent of his pass attempts last season, and though he may not be a true dual-threat QB, he did add 495 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

In four seasons, three at Ole Miss after he transferred from USC, he totaled 11,970 passing yards, 81 passing touchdowns, 1,541 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns.

If Dart turns out to be a lot like Nix, the team that ends up drafting him likely won’t complain.

Nix, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, got off to a slow start but ended his rookie season with 3,775 passing yards and 29 touchdown passes on a 66.3 percent pass completion rate, with 430 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
