It’s a bit like fixing a leaky roof; you might not notice it until the rain starts pouring in! That’s why the Titans are bringing back cornerback and special teams dynamo Justin Hardee Sr. on a one-year deal, aiming to add some much-needed stability and leadership to a squad that struggled with consistency last year. The recent hire of John Fassel, a coaching veteran renowned for cultivating elite special teams units, further underscores the organization’s commitment to turning the tide. How will this new partnership shape the future? Well, only time will tell, but one thing is certain: Hardee’s return is a promising foundation upon which the Titans can build a more robust game plan. The Tennessee Titans are orchestrating a methodical rebuild of their special teams following a disappointing 2024 season.

Behind the scenes, moves are being made to address weaknesses and bring veteran leadership to a group that struggled with consistency.

The organization seems determined to improve this critical aspect of the game and will keep one of its top contributors.

“The Titans are re-signing CB and special teams standout, former Pro Bowler Justin Hardee Sr., to a 1-year deal,” FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz wrote on X.

The report comes on the heels of Tennessee hiring John Fassel, the former Dallas Cowboys coordinator known for developing elite special teams units.

The pairing of Fassel with Hardee signals the Titans’ serious commitment to overhauling this phase of their game.

Hardee’s return makes perfect sense given his impact after joining the team last season. Playing exclusively on special teams, the veteran quickly became a fixture, participating in 81 percent of snaps in nine games.

His reliability and experience provide a foundation for Fassel to build upon as he implements his system.

After entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2017, Hardee established himself with the New Orleans Saints before securing a three-year contract with the New York Jets in 2021.

His exceptional play earned him Pro Bowl honors in 2022, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s premier special teams contributors.

Even when hampered by a hamstring injury that sidelined him for six games in 2023, Hardee remained a valuable asset.

Following his release from the Cleveland Browns, he found his way to Tennessee, where he continued to showcase the skills that have kept him in demand.
