He’s running spring practices since the program is in its spring football phase before it culminates with the school’s annual Spring Game (Black & Gold Day) set for April 19.

He is also getting ready for the 2025 NFL Draft since his son, Shedeur, and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, are expected to be first-round picks. Sanders was Colorado’s quarterback for the previous two seasons while Hunter won the Heisman Trophy for the 2024 season. 

With all of that in mind, we caught up with Coach Prime to get his thoughts on his partnership with California Almonds, his expectations for the 2025 season, whether Hunter will have to pick one position for the NFL and much more.
