However, the men he plays with are very fond of Kuminga, and they have been asking the team to bring him back.
“Over the last few weeks, the Warriors veterans — Curry, Green, and Butler — have all communicated with the Dubs’ brain trust to get a deal done, sources said. All three stars want Kuminga back on the roster, as his athleticism, durability, and production can’t be replicated. If lost, Kuminga’s void will be felt throughout the 82-game season,” Brett Siegel reported.

Last season, Kuminga averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 45.4 percent from the field.
He only played in 47 games and was on the court for 24.3 minutes during that time.
In the season before, he was in 74 games and started in 46 of those.
2024-25 made it clear that head coach Steve Kerr feels Kuminga doesn’t fit into his regular rotation, and he wasn’t calling on him often.
Understandably, that was frustrating for Kuminga, and it made the situation even worse.
He wants to be an All-Star, a player who is in every game and has more responsibilities.
But the Warriors simply aren’t willing to commit to him in the ways that he wants.
