Who Will Dominate Week 11? Staff Reveal Surprising Texas A&M vs. Missouri Predictions

There’s a buzz in the air with Texas A&M perched at No. 3 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings—right behind Indiana and Ohio State—and it’s stirring up plenty of chatter about just how strong this Aggies squad really is . After cruising to an 8-0 mark for the first time since ’92, their road victories over Notre Dame and LSU have folks wondering if this team is for real . Now, the stage is set for a true measuring stick: a showdown at Missouri, a defensive fortress that’s smothering offenses to just over 18 points per game while holding rushers to a mere 90 yards on average . Despite the Tigers’ stout defense, Texas A&M’s offense—powered by a rock-solid O-line, a Heisman-caliber Marcel Reed, and transfers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion, who’ve combined for over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns—is firing on all cylinders, never dipping below 400 yards in SEC play . Head coach Mike Elko’s confidence echoes through this week’s media circuit, urging the squad to stay locked in and finish strong—something they haven’t done since 2020 . So, with a massive road test looming this Saturday in Columbia, anticipation is sky-high. Want to get the full scoop, including expert predictions? LEARN MORE

Texas A&M’s No. 3 ranking in the first edition of the College Football Playoff standings, being ranked below No. 2 Indiana and No. 1 Ohio State, resulted in plenty of discussion regarding the Aggies’ strength of schedule, and impressive road wins against Notre Dame and LSU, while reaching 8-0 for the first time since the 1992 season.

On Saturday, the Aggies will travel to Columbia (MO) to face No. 22 Missouri (6-2, 2-2 SEC) on Saturday afternoon, and on paper, this will be the toughest defense Texas A&M faces, as the Tigers are limiting opponents to just over 18 points and holding opposing rushing attacks to 90.4 yards on average.

Still, Texas A&M’s offense has yet to be held under 400 total yards in SEC play, mainly due to the Aggies’ elite offensive line, starting quarterback Marcel Reed’s Heisman-level play, and the consistent impact transfer wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion have made from as soon as the 2025 season began, combining for more than 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Throughout the week, head coach Mike Elko has made several media appearances, praising his team’s focus on the task at hand, and has continued to state that this is just the start of what the program hopes to accomplish this season, which will take a strong finish in November for the first time since the 2020 season.

Ahead of Saturday’s massive road test, here are our official Aggies Wire staff predictions for No. 3 Texas A&M vs. No. 22 Missouri.

Just like LSU, this is a tough game to predict based on how Missouri has played at home this season, despite both of the Tigers’ losses to Alabama and Vanderbilt occurring inside Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. However, Texas A&M is rested and has proven time and time again this season that the program’s road woes are officially in the past.

After blowing out LSU 49-25 in Baton Rouge, earning their first victory in Death Valley since 1994, head coach Mike Elko stated this week that the Aggies are entirely focused on shutting down Missouri star running back Ahmad Hardy, while A&M’s pass rush, which has produced 32 sacks through eight games, will face freshman quarterback Matt Zollers.

Texas A&M’s defensive game plan is simple: Shut down the Tigers’ rushing attack, and force Matt Zollers to make plays in the pocket. On offense, Marcel Reed will need to be accurate and continue to make plays with his legs to keep Missouri’s productive pass rush from getting home, especially if the Aggie run game doesn’t find life early.

Texas A&M’s offense has been elite on the road, and should continue to produce 20 or more points, but knowing that Missouri will be relying on a freshman quarterback to produce explosive plays, I’ll continue to trust the Aggie pass rush to cause chaos in the backfield, keep the secondary clean.

Prediction: Texas A&M 31, Missouri 21

Texas A&M’s Week 11 matchup against the Missouri Tigers in Columbia, Missouri, could be the Aggies’ most challenging test to date.

While the Tigers are starting freshman quarterback Matt Zollers, following the injury to Beau Pribula against Vanderbilt,  the young gunslinger is extremely talented. The Missouri defensive unit is what stands out on paper, as head coach Eli Drinkwitz has his team ranked at the top of the SEC in total defensive production.

The Aggies must find ways to contain explosive players like wideout Kevin Coleman and running back Ahmad Hardy if they want to move one step closer to securing a spot in the SEC Championship game. This should be one of the best conference games of the weekend.

Texas A&M’s offensive firepower finds a way to win in what should be a rowdy road environment in CoMo on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction: Texas A&M 31, Missouri 24

This is a must-win game for both teams, but it’s a pivotal matchup for Missouri. They need this victory if they hope to claw their way back into the CFP conversation, which remains a long shot at this stage. At the very least, they could play spoiler and exact revenge for the blowout loss they endured last season.

For A&M, it’s all about securing a winning November. They completely collapsed last year, and the naysayers—along with those suffering from BAS—are still expecting a repeat starting Saturday.

Coach Elko is fully aware of this and is determined to change the narrative, but he’ll have to do it against a little-known freshman QB with a strong arm and a solid offensive line.

The Tigers will aim to keep things simple by leaning on their ground game and getting the ball out quickly to neutralize the Aggies’ aggressive pass rush. A&M, meanwhile, will need to start fast and maintain pressure on the young quarterback, forcing him to score on every drive. The defense will need to gang tackle Ahmad Hardy, who has shown the ability to gain tough yards and run through arm tackles.

SEC games have been notoriously difficult to predict, and this one will be no exception. With both teams coming off a bye week, I don’t think either will have a significant edge—aside from Missouri getting their quarterback more first-team reps ahead of the game.

However, given the Aggies’ ability to make second-half adjustments and with Marcel Reed coming off his best performance of the season, I see A&M finding another way to pull out a win in what should be an entertaining contest.

Prediction: Texas A&M 34, Missouri 27
