Goaltending will again be the biggest strength for the U.S. Connor Hellebuyck is a three-time Vezina Trophy winner as the league’s best goalie and was the Hart Trophy winner as league MVP last season. He posted a 1.59 goals against average and a .932 save percentage at 4 Nations and could very well end up having to outduel Jordan Binnington in a final. Binnington wasn’t a solid as Hellebuyck, but he did enough to help Canada win the tournament.
