Xavier Lands North Dakota Transfer Mier Panoam — Could He Be the Game-Changer the Musketeers Need?

It’s been nearly a month since Xavier last made waves in the transfer portal, but the Musketeers just waded back in with a promising grab: Mier Panoam, a guard making the jump from University of North Dakota. This move caught my eye immediately—not just because Xavier’s reshaping its roster under Coach Richard Pitino’s watchful eye, but because Panoam brings a compelling mix of talent and potential. Last season, as a sophomore starter, he pumped out solid numbers—averaging 13 points, nearly 6 rebounds, and over 2 assists per game—even if that three-point shot could use a little polishing. What’s intriguing is his journey too: from being a notable recruit in Georgia, to his stint at Tulane, and now stepping into a new chapter with Xavier. This isn’t just another transfer; it’s a strategic piece in a larger puzzle that could redefine the Musketeers’ trajectory. Excited to see how this all shakes out? Me too. LEARN MORE

North Dakota finished 12-21 overall and fell to St. Thomas-Minnesota in the Summit League Championship semifinals.

Panoam began his career at Tulane, where he appeared in nine games off the bench during the 2023-24 season.

Panoam was originally a three-star recruit and the No. 12 player in Georgia for the Class of 2023, according to 247Sports.

New Xavier commit Mier Panoam (3) was a double-digit scorer last season at North Dakota as a sophomore.

A full-time starter last season as a sophomore, Panoam averaged 13 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. The 6-foot-2 guard shot 45.5% from the field and just 22.2% from three-point range.

Nearly a month after its last commit, Xavier dipped back into the transfer portal waters Saturday with a commitment from University of North Dakota transfer guard Mier Panoam, according to a report from Greenlight Media.
