It’s really hard to go undefeated in today’s age of college football, at least if you’re in a major conference like the Big Ten or the SEC. Take last season’s national champion, the Ohio State Buckeyes, as an example. Ohio State went 10-2 in the regular season last year, losing at No. 1 Oregon and at home to Michigan. But the Buckeyes were still good enough to win a national championship.
