Nikola Jokic knows that the Denver Nuggets didn’t have their best season last year, but he is ready for redemption.

And he believes that his team will be able to overperform, impress, and get back on track in 2025-26.

Speaking to the press, Jokic opened up about his team’s chances in the upcoming season.

“Hopefully we can be the silent — how do you say it? — the silent knight. Silent horse. Dark horse,” Jokic said.

Jokic might not know the exact phrase, but he has the right idea.

He had another terrific season last year, averaging 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists on 57.6 percent from the field.

He was runner-up for MVP once again and consistently one of the most impactful players in the entire league.

However, his Nuggets fell short of their goals and went through uncomfortable drama, including losing their head coach just days before the playoffs.

They still made some noise in the postseason, but few people saw them as legitimate championship contenders.

A lot has changed since then, and the Nuggets have added important talent, such as Cam Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas.

Hopes and expectations are much higher for Denver in the new season, but they need Jokic to show up like the superstar he is once again.
