Alabama’s Recruitment Shocker: How Texas A&M Snatched a Top 4-Star Edge Recruit Right Under Their Nose
Ards spent this past weekend in College Station and decided to tie himself to Mike Elko at the Aggies. He spoke about the connections he made to the coaches, according to Joseph Hastings of Rivals.
“I built close connections with the coaching staff, and I could honestly see myself succeeding on and off the field at Texas A&M,” Ards told Rivals. “They’ve always wanted me. They’ve made me a strong priority. I felt wanted by the A&M staff. That was always the same.”
He was heavily pursued by South Carolina in the spring, but it was a relationship with Elijah Robinson, who initially started recruiting Ards when he was at Syracuse, that pushed him over the edge.
