Are Premier League Referees Turning a Blind Eye to Game-Changing Tactical Fouls?
As much as the Premier League referee has been allowed to become a modern-day folk devil, the tiny sliver of the blame they do own is the result of choosing not to use the tools they have at their disposal.
Referees don’t need more power to deal with offences like cynical fouls, time-wasting and diving until their existing weapons are pointed at the players and proved to be inadequate.
Surely, the Laws of the Game legislate for these matters much more adequately than the leeway in the average Premier League would suggest.
