Aston Villa vs Manchester City 2026-27: Shocking Lineup Surprises That Could Change the Premier League Battle
Aston Villa projected starting XI (4-2-3-1): Zion Suzuki, Matty Cash, Victor Nilsson Lindeloef, Tyrone Mings, Ian Maatsen, Boubacar Kamara, Johan Manzambi, João Gomes, John McGinn, Nicolas Jackson, Emiliano BuendÃa. Coach: Unai Emery.
Manchester City projected lineup
Maresca lines Manchester City up in a matching 4-2-3-1, with Gianluigi Donnarumma in goal and a back four of Matheus Nunes, Rúben Dias, Marc Guéhi and Joško Gvardiol. Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernández sit in the double pivot, screening for a front line of Ayyoub Bouaddi, Iliman Ndiaye and Jérémy Doku behind Erling Haaland. That setup gives City width through Doku and Gvardiol while keeping two bodies in midfield to track Villa’s runners. Manchester City have no absences for this trip, meaning Maresca can select his first-choice XI at Villa Park.
