Auburn OC’s Sharp Critique of Byrum Brown Sparks Controversy Amid SEC Struggles
The Bulldogs are 6-0 and rank among the nation’s leading defenses and scoring offenses. Brown leads the SEC in sacks taken and ranks among its interception leaders. Georgia has allowed only 14 points per game and has recorded 17 sacks this season, presenting another challenge to Auburn’s passing attack.
The Tigers return from their bye with Brown’s adjustment to SEC competition remaining a central issue as they prepare for another massive SEC road test.
Auburn Tigers offensive coordinator Joel Gordon pointed to the SEC’s faster pace Monday while discussing starting quarterback Byrum Brown’s struggles ahead of a daunting road matchup vs. the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs. The comments came during Gordon’s first season directing the Tigers’ offense.
