Celtic have confirmed Martin O’Neill has signed a one-year contract with an option for a further year to remain as their head coach.
O’Neill had two interim spells with Celtic last season, replacing Brendan Rodgers and then returning to the dugout following Wilfried Nancy’s brief and unsuccessful tenure.
The 74-year-old led to Celtic to a double as the Bhoys beat Hearts 3-1 on the final day of the Scottish Premiership season to leapfrog them and claim the league title.
That triumph was followed by a Scottish Cup final win over Dunfermline, and O’Neill is now looking forward to bringing more success to a club with whom he has won 10 trophies.
