Central Michigan’s Game-Changer: Former HBCU Running Back Set to Rewrite Records and Turn Heads
Morehouse College running back Nicholas Woodford is transferring to Central Michigan after a standout freshman season. Woodford entered the program with a significant high school football resume and cemented himself as a constant in Morehouse’s backfield in a season that exceeded expectations for the program.
Woodford capped off an outstanding 2024 season at Northeast High School, establishing himself as one of the state’s most productive running backs. Across 14 games, he rushed for 2,603 yards and 37 touchdowns on 250 carries, averaging 185.9 yards per game and more than 10 yards per attempt. He also contributed in the passing game, hauling in 17 receptions for 227 yards and five additional scores. By the end of his career, Woodford had become the all-time leading rusher in the history of Bibb County athletics.
