If Seguin is ruled out for the playoffs, the Stars will be able to place his $9.85 million cap hit on season-ending LTIR, which would open up a ton of cap flexibility ahead of the deadline. This feels like the most likely scenario because the odds of a player recovering from ACL surgery to play in hyper-intense Stanley Cup playoff games in less than six months seem slim.
