EA Sports Stuns Fans with Bold Move, Scrapping Controversial 'College Football 27' Feature—What’s Next?

Let it never be said that you can’t successfully bully a company into getting them to backtrack from a disdained decision. Football fans and video game fans alike are practically dancing in response to what they convinced EA Sports to do.

At the release of their new College Football 27 video game, fans were appalled to find that there had been paid progression options (microtransactions) in the Road to Glory and Online Dynasty modes. The game would charge anywhere from dozens to hundreds of dollars for players to increase the stats of their preferred player or coach in the signature modes.

Mass outrage ensued as just about every gaming outlet and sports outlet criticized EA Sports for the decision.
