ESPN Analyst Reveals Shocking Expectations for Keelon Russell as QB1—Can He Handle the Pressure?
Alabama football turns the page to the Keelon Russell era behind center. Russell beat out Austin Mack for the coveted starting quarterback spot. But now ESPN analyst and one-time NFL executive Louis Riddick placed a massive burden on Russell’s shoulders.
Riddick sounded off on the move Wednesday during his appearance on First Take.
“I don’t think there’s a single player who has more pressure on him in college football this year, to be quite honest with you,” Riddick boldly said.
It’s understandable considering how scrutinized the QB position is in Tuscaloosa. Past Crimson Tide quarterbacks dealt with millions of watchful eyes; from Ty Simpson, to Tua Tagovailoa, all the way to even Joe Namath during the era of the legendary Paul “Bear’ Bryant.
