Everton vs Tottenham: Toffees run ends
With Jack Grealish returning after being unable to feature against his parent club in their preceding defeat at Manchester City, Everton made a bright start and found visiting goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in inspired form as they attempted to reply after falling 2-0 behind.
Vicario made outstanding saves to tip away Beto’s overhead kick at close range and Ndiaye’s deflected shot from just outside the box as Everton’s five-match unbeaten run in all competitions to open their new stadium ended.
