Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby will suit up in the upcoming season after a local court granted him an injunction against the NCAA, making him eligible despite being embroiled in a gambling case.
Earlier this month, the NCAA denied Texas Tech’s appeal to reinstate Sorby, who admitted to placing over $90,000 in bets in four years on his own teams. He played for Indiana and Cincinnati before moving to Texas Tech for a fifth season.
Following the development, former NFL safety Tyrann Mathieu jokingly asked if he could still return to LSU since he has two years left in his eligibility.
