How Michigan’s Surprising Move Upended Alabama and Texas in 4-Star CB Race

Kyle Whittingham and the Michigan Wolverines added another talented prospect to the 2027 class on the defensive side of the ball, earning Blake Jenkins’s commitment.

Jenkins announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Thursday, per On3 insider Hayes Fawcett. Hailing from Katy, Texas, he chose the Wolverines over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns, SMU Mustangs, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

“Go Blue baby I’m home home!!!!” Jenkins said to Fawcett.

Jenkins stands out as a four-star defender with a 90 score on 247Sports. He ranks 30th among players at his position, 38th among players in the state of Texas, and 230th in the 2027 class. His composite score of 0.9107 puts him at 33rd, 43rd, and 280th in those respective categories.
