Underwood certainly struggled to lead the offense for most of the game. Michigan scored just 13 points in the contest, and the last six came at the very end.

Michigan escaped after a controversial call

The Michigan-Western Michigan game ended with much controversy. Underwood threw an incomplete pass, that seemed to have happened as time expired.

“I definitely thought the game was over because there were zeroes on the clock,” Underwood said, per Associated Press.

However, one second was added to the clock after a review. That allowed for one more play. Underwood made the most of it, throwing a Hail Mary pass that was caught in the end zone.
