Texas Tech will have a new starting quarterback in 2026, and it will not be Brendan Sorsby. Sorsby is entering his name into the NFL Supplemental Draft, hoping to continue his career at the NFL level.
As Sorsby prepares to head to the NFL, there are still questions about his future, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
“Based on Monday’s legal developments in the Brendan Sorsby case, it became clear that he was facing a decision. A calculated risk. Do I continue to cling to my effort to play college football in 2026, knowing that I still may lose my eligibility at a time when it’s too late to jump to the NFL? He had until June 22 to apply for the Supplemental Draft, and he has. On Tuesday, he’ll dismiss his lawsuit in Luccobk County, Texas, which will make him ineligible to play college football, and eligible to enter the supplemental draft, but this isn’t over,” Florio began.
