Is Luke Fickell’s Hot Seat Actually a Catalyst for Wisconsin’s Unexpected Rise?
Luke Fickell’s first three seasons as head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers are like watching a pumpkin roll down a big hill. After a 7-6 winning season in his first year, the program has completely deteriorated, going 5-7 the following campaign, then finishing last year with a 4-8 record. While his job security appears to be bleak, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic shared a silver lining regarding Fickell’s situation.
Feldman believes that the 53-year-old head coach has at least the tools necessary to completely turn things around for Wisconsin. In his latest column for The Athletic, the popular college football insider pointed out how the Badgers finished last season. He likes the two wins over ranked opponents, as it shows the team never gave up on Luke Fickell. Additionally, the team added some exciting young talent for Fickell to work with.
