Joel Klatt’s Surprising New Role in EA Sports College Football 27 Sparks Buzz Among Fans

EA Sports recently released gameplay updates for its uber-popular video game, College Football 27. The game is set for release on July 9, but EA Sports is making sure potential buyers have everything they need to know about it beforehand.

One component that is changing from previous editions is the broadcast team. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit is no longer on the No. 1 pairing with Chris Fowler. Instead, it will be former Colorado quarterback and current top Fox Sports analyst, Joel Klatt. The game’s top broadcast team is now a pair of Colorado graduates. A cool note for Buff fans.

Considering the rivalry between Fox and ESPN, it is a bit surprising to see EA Sports go in this direction, but it is something that we have seen before in the company’s other sports games.

Players will have the option to pick which commentary team they want when playing in the game’s “play now” mode. Fowler and Klatt are the “Big Game Team,” while Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer and David Pollack return as the main broadcast trio. ESPN’s Holly Rowe joins the crew this year as the sideline reporter.
