The platform has become an official prediction market partner of the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. Each partnership was listed as “multi-year” arrangements in what is the operator’s first time joining forces with MLB franchises.
“The idea is that fans are already engaging with their favorite teams on Kalshi, so it only makes sense to extend that fandom to some of the most beloved baseball teams in America,” said Adam Barrick, head of sports partnerships at Kalshi.
The associations will grant Kalshi advertising access on in-stadium signage and LED boards, social and online channels, radio, and fan activations.
As an example, Kalshi will receive naming rights for Dodger Stadium’s Gold Glove Bar, an indoor sports bar inside the stadium directly underneath the Left Field Pavilion with a direct view of the Dodgers’ bullpen. Fans will also receive access to special bonus offers and exclusive on-site activations in Centerfield Plaza hosted by Kalshi.
MLB fans can also trade on team outcomes, including games, player performances, and future outcomes, in prediction markets provided by Kalshi.
Kalshi builds MLB footprint
Before Tuesday’s announcement, Kalshi’s sports partnership portfolio included the NHL, Chicago Blackhawks, LALIGA North America, and the Argentina Football Association.
The Red Sox and Dodgers had already provided glimpses of the partnerships before Tuesday’s announcement. Boston shared a post featuring Kalshi branding on Friday, while Kalshi signage had appeared at Dodgers games.
The Kalshi-Red Sox partnership comes as a Massachusetts injunction targeting the platform’s sports event contracts remains paused during an appeal.
Newcomer Novig became the first prediction market platform to partner with an MLB franchise by teaming up with the New York Mets on July 30. Polymarket, Kalshi’s top competitor in the industry, then reached a deal with the New York Yankees on Aug. 6.
Kalshi’s five team partnerships represents nearly 17% of MLB, and the clubs have an estimated 60 million-65 million fans, according to national polling. They also have about 9 million combined followers just on X.
