While Lane Kiffin’s exit from the Ole Miss Rebels’ football program was nothing but dramatic, the new LSU Tigers head coach made some controversial comments about the recruiting process during his time working for the University. On Monday, Kiffin turned around and defended those comments.
The 51-year-old head coach stated that his comments were based on what parents said about Ole Miss, as he was just explaining how some families didn’t want their children playing for the Rebels due to Oxford, Mississippi’s complicated racial history, according to Matt Hayes of USA Today. Kiffin stated that he was not sharing his actual opinions about Ole Miss whatsoever.
