  • Morocco’s fourth-place in 2022 marked the highest finish by an African nation in World Cup history They kept four clean sheets, more than across their previous 16 matches in the competition (three).
  • Morocco were the only team in CAF qualifying to win all of their 202 World Cup qualifiers finishing with eight wins from eight games.
  • Mohamed Ouahbi will be Morocco’s head coach at the 2026 World Cup, replacing Walid Regragui; he led the U20 side at the 2025 U20 World Cup, beating Argentina 2-0 in the final in Santiago, Chile.
