NBC Sports’s Nicole Auerbach shared Miami Athletics’ statement Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, following the initial injury reports.
“Malachi Toney sustained an injury during Wednesday’s practice and is currently undergoing further evaluation by the team’s medical staff. We will share additional updates as appropriate.”
Toney accounts for 35.1% of the Hurricanes’ receptions, 38.6% of their receiving yards and 46.4% of their touchdown catches, underscoring his importance to quarterback Darian Mensah’s offense.
