Miami Football Makes Surprising Move: Why Extending Coordinators After National Championship Loss Could Change Everything
Miami football had a year where they made it all the way to the National Championship game, but weren’t able to seal the deal against Indiana. Nonetheless, they proved they were on the right path, and they’re bringing back some of the staff that helped them with that progress, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
“Sources: Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson has agreed to a new multi-year contract with the school. Dawson just completed his third year at Miami, where he helped develop Cam Ward to the No. 1 overall pick and coordinatoed the No. 1 scoring and total offense in 2024,” Thamel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
