Miami Pulls Off Shocking Flip of Top 4-Star LB, Sending Rivals Reeling

Whiteside, whose father also played in the NFL and Canadian Football League, joins fellow blue-chip linebackers AJ Randle Jr. and Noah Glover in Miami’s 2027 class, giving the Hurricanes three highly regarded prospects at the position.

Miami entered Wednesday with the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class and now has 21 commitments in the 2027 cycle.

Meanwhile, for Texas A&M, the loss of Whiteside comes as a setback for its highly ranked recruiting class. The Aggies still have 24 commitments, including five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson and four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen. Texas A&M also leads the country with five commitments from five-star prospects.
