Whittingham revealed after taking the job that Underwood went through his entire freshman season without a dedicated quarterbacks coach working with him daily, something Wrighster called insane given the circumstances. “You’re starting the number one recruit in America. He’s 18 years old. You got 10 to $12 million potentially tied up into him,” he said. “He’s carrying one of the most famous brands in the sport, and he’s making the mistakes freshmen make. And nobody in that building has the primary job of developing the quarterback.”
