Regardless of whether the player got a good scan or not, every single athlete looks like a monster when they emote. Whether celebrating a goal or being angered by a penalty call, the players turn into grotesque monsters as soon as their mouths and eyes move.

The on-ice action of NHL 27 is largely still fine, but despite making changes to puck carrying and dekeing, still feels a step behind last year’s game. The music is a big step forward with arenas feeling more alive, but it’s cold comfort with the myriad issues that have popped up which weren’t present in the past.
