The trade market for two Vancouver Canucks wingers and a center isn’t there at the moment
Thomas Drance of The Athletic: (mailbag) There are still some decent wingers in free agency, so it’s slowed the trade market for Vancouver Canucks wingers Jake DeBrusk and Brock Boeser. The likes of Anthony Mantha, Michael Bunting, Eeli Tolvanen, Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane can be had without giving up an asset. DeBrusk and Boeser also have no-movement clauses.
As for trading Elias Pettersson, maybe the Canucks look for a similar deal to the one the Edmonton Oilers made with the San Jose Sharks for Darnell Nurse. Move out the entire contract and take a younger player who may only be a depth player, but has some upside. If the Canucks took back a bad contract to get a better return, it might be the better route.
