Eric Francis of Sportsnet: Nemec: “They gave up a lot for me and I would like to stay as long as I can. If I look at the group, it’s a good fit for me. (Conroy) told me to be in good shape for the big minutes and that’s obviously what you want. I will be ready for that. I didn’t ask for a trade but both sides kind of knew something had to happen.”
It will be interesting to see where the final length of the contract and dollar amount come in as he is a pending restricted free agent.
