Notre Dame Fighting Irish backfield pairing of Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price created NFL Draft history on Thursday night, in Pittsburgh, as both running backs were selected in the first round.
Jeremiyah Love was taken third overall by the Arizona Cardinals, while Jadarian Price was picked with the No. 32 selection, the final pick of the opening round, by the Seattle Seahawks.
Their selections ended a long gap for Notre Dame running backs in the first round, dating back to 1993, when Jerome Bettis went 10th overall to the Los Angeles Rams. Bettis was present at the draft as the streak concluded.
