Oklahoma Linebacker’s Injury Sends Shockwaves Through Michigan Showdown – What’s Next?

The Oklahoma football offense has plenty of questions to answer, so a suffocating defense is expected to define the program during the 2026 season. One setback can quickly puncture holes into the identity of a team, however. Linebacker Kip Lewis suffered an apparent right knee injury early in Saturday’s Power Four clash with Michigan.

He started running along the sidelines and put on a brace, per SoonerScoop.com’s George Stoia III. The redshirt senior returned to the game but got hurt again. Oklahoma could certainly use him in this road matchup, but his long-term health is most important. An arduous SEC slate is on the horizon, with games against Georgia and Texas occupying much of fans’ head space.
