Penn State’s Rocco Becht Shocks Coaches with Stunning Shoulder Injury Comeback Timeline
After a tough 2025 season at Iowa State, Becht had surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder during the offseason. He also hurt his throwing shoulder, which needed shots every Tuesday and Wednesday just so he could practice during the last few weeks of last season. Even with those problems, Becht fought through it all, which shows the toughness that Campbell has praised many times.

Through 10 spring practices, Becht has steadily expanded his participation in on-field work. He has logged 7-on-7 reps and has been an active presence guiding Penn State’s offensive unit even when limited to an observer role during 11-on-11 live periods.
