Real Madrid’s £107m Shock: Yan Diomande’s Stunning Transfer from Leipzig Ignites Frenzy
La Liga side Leganes signed Diomande in November 2024, giving him his debut in a 3-2 defeat at Madrid the following March.
In Leganes’ penultimate home match of the campaign, Diomande opened his account to help his side beat Espanyol 3-2.
Two months later, Leipzig activated Diomande’s release fee of around £17.2m. A run of goals in three consecutive games opened his Bundesliga account between October and November, followed by a hat-trick at home to Eintracht Frankfurt the following month.
Only five players bettered Diomande’s combined 20 goals and assists in his debut season in the Bundesliga in 2025/26, also winning 75 more duels than anyone else in the division, comfortably leading the way in successful dribbles per match and recording the fifth-highest speed.
