Steve Wiltfong of Rivals also noted that Virginia Tech had been aggressive in going after the quarterback.
“The Hokies have been real aggressive on the NIL front for Bourque,” Wiltfong wrote. “Beyond that he has great relationships with head coach James Franklin, Danny O’Brien and the coaching staff. He likes the direction of the offense and trajectory of the program.”
Virginia Tech now has the 19th-ranked class for the 2027 cycle, according to Rivals. They are also second in the ACC. Bourque becomes the top player committed in the class of 2027 for Franklin, and one of three four-star recruits joining the program.
